Tina Sottolano has been professional horticuluralist for 17 years. She started her career at working part time while earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture at Temple University. While at Temple University Tina interned her Junior and Senior year at Burpee trial gardens.
Realizing that she developed a passion for growing upon graduation she began her career as a grower at a local garden center. After working in the field for a few years, she was asked to work at her family’s communications company. She did so, but found herself longing to be working with plant material, which was her true passion. She left the family business and worked at a local garden center as a staff horticulturalist. The position was challenging as well as rewarding. Miss Sottolano developed a series of popular workshops and continues to do them today.
In 2010, she started Gardens on the Go as a creative outlet.
Gardens on the Go specializes in container plantings indoor and outdoor, consulting and educational workshops. Her philosophy and mission is to compliment a homeowners landscape with beautiful plantings custom designed to the clients needs and taste. She loves combining edibles with annuals, perennials, and even combos with trees and shrubs.
Tina is passionate about her craft and loves sharing her knowledge of plants and design with others.
